Obesity, physical inactivity, and smoking tend to be the major causes behind early deaths in people. Lifestyle changes could be of good help in preventing different diseases.

Risk factors make it more likely that an individual will suffer from a certain medical condition or disease. Certain risk factors like gender, family history and age are beyond the control of an individual. Nevertheless, many behavior-related risk factors are in good control of an individual. People can reduce their chances of early death and illness dramatically by making some major lifestyle changes.

Smoking is one of the most common and the most significant behavior-related risk factors for early deaths. It is one of the most common causes of different cancers like lung cancer. Other diseases caused due to smoking include cardiovascular disease and obstructive pulmonary disease.

It has been found through research that smoking causes around 10% cardiovascular deaths. Healthy lifestyle changes for this behavior-related risk factor includes stopping the habit of smoking as fast as possible. Research suggests that people who are inactive and obese are more likely to have health problems than people who smoke.
